CHAFYN
GROVE SCHOOL |
Chafyn Grove was built as a school
in 1876. Fifteen minutes walk from the middle of Salisbury but looking out
onto the hills and surrounding countryside, Chafyn Grove is ideally
situated on a plot of 12 acres. The school has developed steadily over the
years and can now boast excellent facilities to support all aspects of
school life. There are impressive buildings for Art and
Science, a ten classroom block for Years 3 to 5, while building is about
to start on a superb new library/classroom complex, which will be ready in
June 2006. |

Downton Church of England Primary School is a long established co-educational school for children between the ages of 4 - 11 Years. 250 pupils attend this popular and successful school, which is celebrated nationally for its innovative practice. Children are taught by specialist teachers, often in very small groups, and experience a broad and rich curriculum. Sport and music are key strengths and children learn five languages as part of the curriculum, including Chinese. The school pilots a range of government initiatives and film of teaching and learning is used as exemplar practice by the DFES. |

Queen Elizabeth's School

Queen Elizabeth's School is a co-educational comprehensive voluntary controlled Church of England upper school (13-19). At present, 1300 students, attend the school including more than 350 in the Sixth Form. Queen Elizabeth's maintains a very high reputation in the local community and received an excellent OFSTED report in June 2000, reporting a further improvement on the high standards documented in 1995. |
